What exactly can you do at the Asotin County Fair?
Large animals
At fair, large animals do not need a verbal presentation, but instead a visual presentation,
in which you move or pose your animal, so the judge could see your animal. In addition, there are
two shows for each animal. One show is for quality, where you will compete against other people
around your animals weight. For all animals, there is a minimum weight. For some animals there is a maximum
weight, but for cows, you could have it as heavy as you want, as long as it is more than the minimum.
The second show is for showing, where you will compete against people your age. You will present your
animal and yourself to the judge, who will give a placing on how you show your animal and how you
present yourself. It is helpful for you to comb your hair, brush your teeth, etcetera. It also
helpul to follow the Dress code.

Small Animals
Unlike their large counterparts, for small animal, you give a verbal-visual presentation that shows
the parts and quality of the animal. Also, the small animals only have one show, and if there is a tie,
they have the standoff, in which they ask questions. In the show, you use verbally present your
animal, while visually presenting it, and the visual presentation is best if it matches your verbal
presentation. at the end, they will most likely ask questions, and add points to your score, which
be helpful to get a blue ribbon. A knowledge bowl is a competition at the end of a show, where the
exhibitors have a poster of questions, and they must answer the board before they reveal after the
competition, and the judge tells them to reveal. This will add points to your ribbons, which are the
rewards.
