How to show a goat
Goats are considered a posing animal. To show a goat, you need
a halter, and you need a goat. To first prepare your animal for
show, you need to make sure it's horns are clipped, it is washed
and it is brushed. Since it is a large animal, it has two shows,
the quality and the showmanship. In the quality show, you will
be competing against people who's animal's weight is around your
animal's weight. You will present all sides of your animal to the
judge, and your competitors will be too, so you will need to battle
it out. For showmanship, you will be competing against people your age
doing the same thing that you did in quality. Finally, in the later
hours of Saturday, you will show your animal in the same way you did
in your other shows. On Sunday morning, do not feed your animal.
It is going to be butchered or be used for breeding, but during
your fair journey, make sure the animal gets fed every day, it's
pen is cleaned out every day, and it is checked on and brushed
every day.
